Good to know

Our cabin is hidden in a serene location. If you like a little adventure, you'll love the treasure hunt of finding our off-grid cabin in the woods, yet just 15 minutes from Courthouse Square. 80 years ago a placer mining operation worked the creek alongside this beautiful cabin. This modest mine was small in size and surrounded by 1.25 millions beautiful acres of Prescott National Forest and its majestic ponderosa pines. Shortly after the miners left, our cabin “The Gold Digger” was built. This home is now one of only a few, deep in the forest, close the Lynx Lake, and surrounded by 1.25 million acres of protected Prescott National Forest. A dream for visitors who love privacy and remoteness without giving up the comforts and convenience of a short drive to Arizonian’s favorite small town, Prescott. OUTDOORS - Rocking chairs overlooking the forest on the front deck - Back Deck has covered and uncovered dining for 4 - Propane gas grill - Fire pit (usable seasonally when there isn't a burn ban) - Cornhole, horseshoes - Hammock KITCHEN - Full kitchen stocked with all the essentials - Coffee Bar with Cuisinart drip machine - Teapot with tea provided - Creamer, sugar and locally roasted Press Coffee - Pots and pans, baking dishes, bowls - Containers for leftovers - Drinking glasses - Dish towels and knives - Filtered water in fridge door - Grill utensils BEDROOMS Primary Bedroom: King size bed, 180 degree forest views, 42” Smart TV Bedroom 2: Queen size bed, 42” SmartTV Bedroom 3: Full size bed -> Each bedroom comes with light filtering or blackout window treatments BATHROOM - Tub/shower combo - Fluffy towels for your use - Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided - Hair dryer ENTERTAINMENT - 55” Smart TV in the living room - 42” Smart TVs in 2 bedrooms WIFI + WORK - High speed Starlink Wifi - Dining table makes a great space to work or outside on the patio table in nature LAUNDRY - Front load washer and dryer - Laundry detergent, bleach, stain treatment and dryer sheets provided WILDLIFE Gold Digger is in the forest amongst the trees and Mother Nature! The remote location promises to deliver bird sightings, like bald eagles, among other creatures such as coyotes, javelina, insects and other wildlife. LAKE ACCESS + DISTANCE Lynx Lake is accessible by foot from the cabin walking back down the 1.5 mile dirt road. The cabin is not on the lake. *SEASONAL* CREEK The nearby creek is seasonal. Sometimes it is bone dry and sometimes it is quite active, dependent on recent weather. PANNING FOR GOLD You can pan for gold in the seasonal creek! Either way, you can dry pan for gold if water is not present. Contrary to popular thinking, panning for gold can be and is done in dry creek beds. So, whether it's running or not, fun can be had. FIREPIT + FIREPLACE Firewood is onsite and provided for you. Please follow Yavapai County's daily fire restriction rules (fire pit) should they apply during your stay.

Wendy & team were so accommodating. We planned last minute trip because I was asked to attend a meeting in Prescott Valley. The directions were easy to follow. The property was breathtaking. I felt like Snow White minus the vertically challenged crew. We want to rename the cabin the Stellar Blue Jay cabin. We spent more time outside than in. The flora & fauna were such a treat. The off-the-grid element was a great Fall Break learning experience for my two teens. And that was the greatest 20-minute commute to my meeting I’ve experienced. Thank you, again, Wendy & team. We loved our time & appreciate everything!

I absolutely loved the privacy and nature. House was easy to get to and we felt very safe. I'm definitely going to go back when it gets colder out. Very close to Lynx Lake and only a 20 min drive into main Prescott, but far enough that you feel like you're disconnected from the public.

Our family loved our stay at the cabin, the area was quiet, beautiful, and not far from town. The cabin was inviting and perfect for a family of four. Our kids enjoyed the outside games and hiking in the area. We will stay here again for sure!

Location

Guests will want to have a higher clearance vehicle such as an SUV or a truck. A car can make the trek when the road is dry, but there is a small seasonal stream to drive through on the way.
