Sometimes it is bone dry and sometimes it is quite active, dependent on recent weather. PANNING FOR GOLD The nearby seasonal creek has a history of placer mining and casual gold panning is possible whether water is present or not. We offer the tools to give it your best shot. FIREPIT + FIREPLACE Firewood is onsite and provided for you. Please follow Yavapai County's daily fire restriction rules (fire pit) should they apply during your stay. OUR HISTORY Eighty years ago a placer mining operation worked the creek alongside this beautiful cabin. This modest mine was small in size and surrounded by 1.25 millions beautiful acres of Prescott National Forest and its majestic ponderosa pines. Shortly after the miners left, our cabin “The Gold Digger” was built. This home is now one of only a few, deep in the forest, close the Lynx Lake, and surrounded by 1.25 million acres of protected Prescott National Forest. A dream for visitors who love privacy and remoteness without giving up the comforts and convenience of a short drive to Arizonian’s favorite small town, Prescott.

Guests will want to have a higher clearance vehicle such as an SUV or a truck. A car can make the trek when the road is dry, but there is a small seasonal stream to drive through on the way.
